Ralph Dale Owen

Ralph Dale Owen, age 67 of Calhoun died at 12:50 PM, Sunday, October 2 at his residence. Dale was born, April 5, 1949 in Whitfield County, a son of the late Jester Jim Owen and Lizzie Mae Greeson Owen. Also, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth Ellen Owen. Dale lived in Cleveland, Tennessee for 33 years and the past 6 years in Calhoun. He was retired from Bowater with 23 years of service. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran with service in Thailand, US Air Force, and was a member of the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Judy R. Owen of Calhoun; one sister, Betty Jane Parker and her husband, Charles of Calhoun; one aunt, Rosa Ella Greeson of Rome; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, October 4 at the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Paul Whitton officiating. Burial will be in Blackwood Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Tuesday preceding the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Blackwood Springs Cemetery Trust, 361 Tucker Hollow Road SE, Calhoun, GA.
