Ralph Paul McEntire

Paul McEntire, age 83 of Calhoun, died Sunday morning December 20, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born August 9, 1932 to the late Robert (Bob) McEntire and Ann Lee Stobert McEntire. Paul was a United States Navy veteran. He was a local business owner in Calhoun before his retirement, and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 55 ½ years Dorothy Louise McEntire. Survivors include his daughter Melea Harkins and her husband Johnny of Calhoun; two sons, Kevin McEntire of Sugar Valley and Bob McEntire of Calhoun; brother Jack McEntire and his wife Peggy of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Ian Thomas (Ree), Marla McEntire, Chris McEntire, Lacey McEntire, Katylin Dacus and Jai Harkins Thurman; two great grandchildren, Ethan Thomas and Emily Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 2 PM from Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Music will be arranged by Kenny Herron. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Clyde McEntyre in charge of graveside rites. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Paul’s body will lie-in-state at the church on Tuesday from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM. Pallbearers serving include: Eddie Lewis, Josh McEntire, David Hammond, Randall Fox, Tyler McEntire, Reed Davis and Dudley Meadows. They are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday December 22. The honorary escort are members of Paul's Sunday School Class; high school, golf, bingo, and card friends; also, friends at Fox Systems and Burger King's round table.
