Ralph Edwin Lynch

Ralph Edwin Lynch, age 92 of Plainville, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 in the Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ralph was born on March 1, 1920 in Franklin County, VA. He was the son of the late Willie B. and Cora Weaver Lynch. Ralph was a member of the Plainville Unity Baptist Church and he and his wife Ruby were the caretakers of Scott Cemetery for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Curling Lynch. Survivors include: seven children: Marie Murray of Danville, VA, Ralph Lynch, Jr. of Martinsville, VA, Sandra Hankins of Martinsville, VA, Freddie Lynch of Oklahoma City, OK, David Lynch of Martinsville, VA, Cathy Beam of Ridgeway, VA and Carole Wood of Meadville, PA; four step-children: Larry Kirkland of Washington, Cliff Kirkland of Culpepper , VA, Kathy Grisham of Plainville and Cindi Holley of Gloucester, VA; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, January 31st at 11:00am from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Webster and Reverend Al Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery in Plainville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
