Ralph Bennett

Ralph Bennett, Jr., age 75 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 10, 2013 in Gordon Health Care. Ralph was born on July 30, 1938 in Gordon County to the late Ralph Bennett, Sr. and Aver Clark Bennett. He was a member of the Calhoun First Presbyterian Church, and was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Mercer University; holding a Master of Education Degree. He taught in both Gilmer and Gordon County School Systems. He was principal of Red Bud Elementary School and Tolbert Elementary School, and was the past Superintendent of the Gordon County School System. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Dixon Bennett. He is survived by one son, Paul Bennett and his wife Margaret of Dahlonega; one daughter, Geneva Bennett of Calhoun; and one grandson, Anthony Bennett of Dahlonega. A private family Memorial Service was held. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Gordon County Board of Education @ P.O. Box 12001 Calhoun, GA 30703-7000.
