Porter Toles

William Porter Toles, age 96, of Calhoun. Died Sunday evening July 24th at Morning Point Assisted Living. William was born June 20, 1915 in Broom Town, Alabama. Son of the late William Taylor Toles and Lula Jones Toles. He was a well known businessman in Summerville, Rome and Calhoun prior to his retirement. William was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army and was a member of the Independent Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Laverne Scott Toles. Survivors include his son, Andy Toles of Oakman and his daughter, Pamela McMurray of Hendersonville, NC.. Three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 28th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Wednesday evening.
