Polly Lee Hightower, age 80 of the Scottsville Community died at 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 31 at her residence.
Polly was born in Gordon County, October 2, 1931, daughter of the late Donald Lee Jacks and Mary Langston Jacks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hightower, a daughter, Angela Kay Hightower, and two sisters, Patsy Dixon and Betty Jean Prater. She was formerly employed by Carriage Mills and was a member of the Scottsville Baptist Church.
Polly is survived by two sons, the Reverend Danny Hightower of Adairsville and Tim Hightower of Plainville; one daughter, Joan Booz of Plainville; three brothers, Murel Jacks and Johnny Jacks both of Plainville and Steve Jacks of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Christopher Hightower, Matthew Booz, Andy Hightower, and Holly Vandagriff; three great grandchildren, Zackery Hightower, Angel Timm, Brooklyn Reed; two great- great grandchildren, Cohutta and Marley.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside of Salmon Cemetery at 11:30 AM, Saturday, June 2 with the Reverend Clinton Carver and Brother Larry Cordell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 PM Friday at Thomas Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Kenny Hightower, Robby Spector, Jeff Dixon, Justin Garland, Brian Vandagriff, and Brian Wilson. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 AM Saturday.
