Mr. Plato Emerson Padgett age 86 of the Ranger community died Monday evening October 20 in Wildwood Health Care , Talking Rock, Ga. following an extended illness.
Mr. Padgett was born in Gordon County, December 14, 1921. Son of the late James Henry and Eva Ann Hopper Padgett. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Oakman United Methodist Church. Plato was preceded in death by his sisters, Janelle Knight and Josephine Padgett as well as a brother James Henry Padgett, Jr..
Survivors include his sister; Mary Kraft of Atlanta. Two nieces; Elizabeth Kraft of Athens and Susan Kraft of Atlanta. Along with several Cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday October 22nd at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Padgett Nelson and Rev. Charles Barnes officiating. Susan Kraft will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include John Johnson, Jim Nelson, George Cook, Wayne Howell, and Steve Doughty.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service.
