Mrs. Phyllis Jeffreys Bowerman, age 85, of Calhoun. Died Monday April 5th at her residence.
Mrs. Bowerman was born in Binghamton, NY, September 16, 1924. Daughter of the late William and Ruth Pellan Jeffreys. She was a member of the Calhoun First Presbyterian Church and was a secretary with the history department at the State University of Oneonta. Her husband Raymond F. Bowerman preceded her in death in 1995.
Survivors include her daughter, Terrie Leonard and her husband David of Calhoun. One brother, William Jeffreys of Fayetteville, NC. Three grandchildren; Jeffrey Ortola of Johnson City, TN., Tracey Trivett of Jonesboro, TN., and Desirae Leonard of Calhoun. One great grandchild, Jacob Trivett of Jonesboro, TN. A special niece, Mrs. Victor (Patricia) Rose as well as her close friends; Eleanor Frost and Camilla Langston.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday April 7th at 3pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Dick Neeley officiating. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery in Fenton, NY.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2pm prior to the funeral.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Calhoun First Presbyterian Church @ 829 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, Georgia,30701.
