Perry Ross Vaughn, 92, formerly of Greenville, SC, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Gordon Healthcare in Calhoun, GA. He was born on January 24, 1919, in Greenville, a son of the late Jesse Lee and Mamie Ross Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Leila Hawkins Vaughn. A member of Bethel Baptist Church, Mr. Vaughn was also preceded in death by sisters Stella Adams, Louise Banks, and Helen Sightler, and brothers Lewis and Ralph Vaughn. He is survived by his son Dr. Bert Vaughn and his wife Anne of Calhoun, GA; his daughter Vi Kaminski of Greer, SC; grandsons Jesse Vaughn and his wife Christy of Calhoun, Jonathan Vaughn of Calhoun, Joe Daniels of Greer, John Kaminski and his wife Gina, Ed Kaminski, all of Greer; great-grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Vaughn, Hudson Holcombe Vaughn of Calhoun, and Haley and Nicole Kaminski of Greer; a brother Colvin and wife Ruby of Greer; sisters-in-law Annie Laura Vaughn of Greer and Lewellen Hawkins of Travelers Rest, SC, and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins. Visitation in Calhoun will be Wednesday December 14, at Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation in Greenville will be Thursday December 15 at Bethel Baptist Church from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2:30 at the church with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Dr. Bert Vaughn will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29617, or to Alzheimer’s Association SC Chapter, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601. Thomas Funeral Home of Calhoun, GA, has charge of the services for Perry Vaughn.
