Peggy Joyce Brown Duvall, age 84 of Sugar Valley, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at her residence.
Peggy was born on November 16, 1935 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late Ivus Brown and Mildred Anderson Brown. In addition to her parents, Peggy was also preceded in death by: a son, Dwight Duvall and his wife Glenda; and brother, Kenneth Brown. Peggy was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church. She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution, and active in the WMU. Peggy was a dedicated pastor’s wife, mother, and grandmother.
Peggy is survived by: her husband, Rev. Howard Duvall of Sugar Valley; son, Philip Duvall and his wife Jennifer of Calhoun; daughter, Lynne Floyd and her husband Felton of Sugar Valley; two brothers, Spencer Brown and his wife Glenda of Sugar Valley, and Larry W. Brown and his wife Kathy of Plainville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren also survives.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the family recommends that guests wear masks for the services and practice social distancing in line with the CDC guidelines.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 1st at 2 PM at Sugar Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Yoho officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Don Allen Holsomback, Bobby Holsomback, Clay Holsomback, Gene Bowen, Jerry Bowen, and Wayne Bowen.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1st from 12 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM at Sugar Valley Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Peggy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
