Mrs. Pearl Ray McEntyre, age 91 of Calhoun died Wednesday morning at her residence.
She was born, November 10, 1915 in Gordon County, daughter of the late James Lewis Ray and Lillie Mae Sutherland Ray. Also, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lillie Belle Ray, Frances Ray Lanier, and Louise Ray Orr; two brothers, John W. Ray and Toby Ray. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Pearl is survived by one son, Wayne “Pruney” McEntyre Jr., one sister, Jo Ray McDonald; and one brother, James B. Ray; two grandchildren, Melody M. West and Greg McEntyre; five great grandchildren, Corey McEntyre, Robby McEntyre, Kacee McEntyre, Clay and Tyler West all of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 26 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Corey and Robby McEntyre, Clay and Tyler West, Jimmy McDonald and Emory McEntyre. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 PM Friday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
