Mrs. Pauline S. Johnson 90 of Oakman, Ga. died Wednesday January 20th. in Gordon Health Care Center following an extended illness. She devoted her life to the care of her family.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Pickens County on Sept. 21, , 1919 daughter of the late Virgil and Minnie Allen Silvers and had spent the greater part of her life in Gordon County. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Johnson in 1977, three brothers; James S., William D. and Raymond W. Silvers and two sisters; Bonnie Johnson and Dorothy Craig.
Survivors include two sons; William G. “Bill” Johnson and Tony L. Johnson both of Oakman, two sisters; Irene Craig of Oakman and Hazel Collis of Rockmart., seven grandchildren and they are; William W “Walter” Johnson, Tony E. “Gene” Johnson, Mark Johnson, Angela Johnson Yager, William G. “Billy” Johnson, Jr;, Tonya Johnson Dutton and Mathew S. Johnson and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 23rd. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Brother Mark and Brother Billy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery near Oakman.
Pallbearers serving include Walt, Matthew, Gene, John, Randy, and Evan Johnson, Shane Dutton and Brandon Yager and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M. on Saturday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday Evening.
The Rogers family will have charge of the music.
