Paul G. Lusk, age 90 of Calhoun, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 24, 1934, in Cherokee County, GA, Paul led a vibrant life characterized by his strong dedication to his family and community.
A graduate of Belwood High School, Paul embarked on a successful career as a self-employed real estate developer. His passion for real estate development was matched only by his fondness for the outdoors, where he thrived as an avid golfer and gardener. Paul also enjoyed farming and found joy in playing cards with family and friends, moments that he cherished deeply.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Grady and Pauline Woodall Lusk, brothers, C.G. (Johnnie Ruth) Lusk and Donald (Rosetta) Lusk; brothers-in-law, Lawrence McBrayer, Leonard Reece, and Otto DeFoor.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Mina Jones Lusk; his son, Joey (Teena) Lusk; and his daughter, Marilyn (Caris) Roland. He was a proud grandfather to Samantha (Brian Bond) Lusk, Seth (Paige) Roland, and Rachel (Stevie) Dillard, and a cherished great-grandfather to Beau (Cameron Chandler) Black, Zoe Roland, Alice Roland, Luke Dillard, and Lucy Dillard. Paul was also blessed with the companionship of his siblings: Juanita McBrayer, Margaret Reece, Patricia DeFoor, and Harry (Henrietta) Lusk. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Betty Jones; and several nieces and nephews who he adored.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Jether Cochran officiating. A private family burial will be held in Chandler Cemetery at a later date.
Pallbearers serving include: Tony McBrayer, Steven Samples, Derek Reece, Todd Lusk, Alan Lusk, Jeff Jones, Darin Hardin, and Tony Freeman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be close family members and friends, and members of the Calhoun Elks Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in memory of Paul be made to Freedom Baptist Church at 478 Towe Chapel Road NW, Adairsville, GA 30103
