Paul J. Green

Thursday, May 08, 2008 Mr. Paul J. Green, age 81, of Calhoun died Wednesday May 7th at his residence following several months of declining health . Paul was born Harper, West Virginia, August 18, 1926. Son of the late William T. and Ennis Lewis Green. Prior to his retirement he was a machine operator with Massey-Ferguson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. Paul was of the Baptist faith and had lived in Calhoun for the past 22 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Jerry and Rev.William C. Green and a great-great-granddaughter Jessica Simms. Survivors include his wife Mary Sue Wood Green of Calhoun. Three daughters, Tonna Anderson of Taylor, MI., Pat Colston and Rhonda Neal both of Calhoun. Two sons, Paul Green Jr. and his wife Pam of Calhoun, and Gary Green and his wife Ginger of Taylor, MI.. Two granddaughters, Victoria “Tori” Jones of Calhoun and Amanda Green of Taylor, MI.. Seven grandsons, Jimmy Simms of Melvindale, MI., Michael Simms of Lima, OH., Gary Green Jr. , Taylor MI., Robbie Donohoe, Boling Green, KY, Brian Donohoe, Aragon, GA., Josh and Nathaniel Green both of Calhoun, two great-granddaughters; Ashley Donohoe , Boling Green , KY, and Rachel Simms of Taylor, MI., two great-grandsons; Michael Simms of Flat Rock , MI and Zackary Simms of Melvindale, MI., a brother; Herbert Green and his wife Betty of Taylor, MI., four sisters; Edna Cooper of Beckley, W.VA, Mary Messersmith and her husband Robert of Clearville, PA, Wanda West and her husband Bennie of Delaware and Brenda Wyatt and her husband Dick of Hagerstown, M.D. and a sister-in-law; Wanda Green of Beckley, W.VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 10th from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Wells and Chaplain Jim Hermon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. Saturday. Brian Bagley and “Renewed” will have charge of the music. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening.
