Paul Edward Bridges

Paul Edward Bridges, age 84 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2011 in Gordon Health Care. Paul was born July 12, 1927 in Ft. Payne Alabama. Son of the late Joseph and Arizona Bridges. Paul was a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church and the V.F.W. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Burlington Industries. Survivors include; his wife, Carmen Jones Bridges. Four Sons; Bob and his wife Lucie, Don and his wife Gray, Doug and his wife Allison, and Greg Bridges. Two daughters; Carol and her husband Michael Parker, and Sharon and her husband Paul Bolton all of Calhoun. One sister; Juanita Holly of Woodstock. Twelve Grandchildren; Angelina Jarrett, Derek Bridges, Kayleigh Bridges, Christopher Bridges, Adam Bridges, Chandler Bridges, Joshua Bridges, Alyssa Greeson, Jill Bridges, Jonathan Parker, Stephanie Bolton, Katherine Bolton. Five Great-Grandchildren; Erin Jarrett, Madison Bridges, Anna Caroline Parker, Alexis Bolton, and Makayla Gulledge. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00p.m. Tuesday, October 4th at Meadowdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers include; The Calhoun High Lady Jackets Softball Team. Paul Edward Bridges will lie in state Tuesday, October 4th from 12:00 until 1:00p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00p.m. Monday, October 3rd at Thomas Funeral Home. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Paul Edward Bridges.
