Pat Thurman Bowen

Pat Thurman Bowen, age 67 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Gordon Hospital after several years of declining health. Pat was born, February 24, 1946 to the late John Henry and Adell Neal Thurman. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Terry Bowen, sisters and brothers in law Buddy and Beth Hawkins; nephew, Matt Bowen and mother in law, Sallie Dell McEntyre. She was of the Baptist Faith. Pat is survived by one son, Shane Bowen of Fairmount; daughter, Kim Bowen Logan and her husband Kevin of Hiram; one sister, Annette Thurman Clark and her husband, Darrin of Adairsville; two brothers, Jackie Thurman and his wife, Brenda of Ellijay and Teddy Thurman of Fairmount; a brother in law, Seth Bowen of Rome; four granddaughters, Haley Owens, Chloe Edwards, Amelia Edwards, and Darby Bowen; nephews, and nieces, Shea Walraven, Tia and Mark Shubert, Jason and Candi Hawkins, and Jennifer Bowen; several great nieces and one great nephew; caregivers and dear friends Betty Herndon, and Sandra Strickland as well as beloved friends and neighbors, Robbie and Bobbie Van Vlake. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Friday, February 7 from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Hibberts officiating. Musicians are Chloe Edwards and Faye Bentley. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Jason Hawkins, Billy Lambert, Michael Patania, Jim Warren, Louie McEntyre and Larry Gravitt.
