Pamela “Pam” Lynette Woods Treglown, age 70, of Plainville, passed away Thursday afternoon July 13th at her residence.
Pam was born on August 10, 1952, in Floyd County. She was the daughter of the late Ellis Woods and Hildreth Floyd Woods. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Berry College and taught 34 years in the Gordon County School System. Pam was the Teacher of the Year for Tolbert Elementary School in 2005 and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Gordon County Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Pam served in many capacities as a volunteer including with Girl Scouts of America, Gordon Central Band Boosters and was a founding member of The Sweet Cocoon. She was also active in her support of many educational programs. Pam was very proud of the fact that she implemented a Little Free Library in Plainville. She loved her church family and was a founding member of Plainville Independent Methodist Church where she served as the church pianist, secretary/treasurer, and coordinated the youth activities. She and her husband Jim loved to travel and have visited all 50 states. It was no secret that she loved her Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy “Jim” Treglown; two daughters, Stephanie Lynette Treglown Pearson (Justin) and Megan Leigh Treglown. She had two very loved grandchildren, Caden Pearson and Callie Pearson.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, July 16th, from 2pm until 6pm at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 17th, at 2pm from the Plainville Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Allee officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery. Angie Childers, Amber Lee, and Justin Pearson will have charge of the music.
Pallbearers serving include Justin Pearson, Caden Pearson, Terrelle Byerley, Dempsey Wright, Richard Shiflett, Dale Hollis, Chad Floyd, Wayne Lewis, and David Bohannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Treglown, Tom Woods, and Wally Voelker.
