Mr. Omar S. “ Junior” Brackett, age 80 of the Pine Chapel Community died at 10:05 AM. Friday, July 20 in Erlanger Hospital of Chattanooga following several days of illness. Junior was born in Gordon County, June 16, 1932, son of the late Omar S. Brackett, Sr. and Ethel Greeson Brackett. He and his wife, Sue owned and operated, Brackett Livestock Trailer Sales for over 20 years. He was a member of Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306, F. & A.M., and the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime resident of the Pine Chapel Community. He is survived by his wife, Sue Causby Brackett of the Pine Chapel Community, a brother in law, sister in law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 22 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Jonathan Moss and the Reverend Kenneth Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Pine Chapel Cemetery. Coosawattee Masonic Lodge will have charge of Masonic Graveside Rites. Memorial contributions may be given to the Pine Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Grover Causby, 133 Fairway Drive, Dalton, GA. 30720. Pallbearers are Weldon Curtis, Sanford Sisson, Larry Greeson, Jerry Quinn, Bob Russell, John Frix, Tim Allen, and Jimmy Prater. Honorary pallbearers are Boyd High field, Gary Copeland, Art Downey, Leon Mulholland, Martin Pitts, and Robert Oglesby. Online condolences may be recorded at www.thomasfuneralhomecalhoun.com.
