Norman Doyle Malone

Norman Malone, age 89 of the Sugar Valley community, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence. Norman was born on June 12, 1927 in Sugar Valley, son of the late Isaac Buford Malone and Mary Carter Malone. He was a member of the Sugar Valley Baptist Church and the Sugar Valley Masonic Lodge # 733. Norman also served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Sabol Malone; a son, Norman F. Malone; his sister, Bobbie Shirley; and two brothers, Paul and Dan Malone. Survivors include two sons, Warren Malone of New York and Kevin Malone and his wife Katherine of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Abby Malone, Megan Malone, Matthew Malone, Michael Malone and William Malone also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday March 4th at 1pm from the Old Sugar Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Duvall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Kevin Holsomback, Phillip Duvall, Tim Shirley, Mike Shirley and Randy Shirley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gheen, Jerry Davis and the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class of Sugar Valley Baptist Church. Norman will lie in state on Saturday from 12 PM until the funeral hour at 1 PM at the Old Sugar Valley Baptist Church.
