Norma Walker Jackson, age 83, of Calhoun, died Monday December 12th at her residence surrounded by her family following years of declining health.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Gordon County on May 3, 1933 daughter of the late Buren and Hilma Horton Walker and had been a lifelong resident of Gordon County. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was retired from the Gordon County Training Center. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Jackson, a sister, Diane Walker and a brother, Alton Walker.
Survivors include two daughters and son in laws; Theresa and Barry Pate, Cheryl and Pat Messer, a son and daughter in law; Randall and Laura Jackson, one sister and brother in law; Annette and James Wilson, a sister in law; Glenda Walker all of Calhoun, seven grandchildren; Michael and Dawn Pate, Mindy Pate, Shawn Messer, Dawn Messer, Deidra and Clifford Daniel, Keina Jackson, Samantha Dalton, and Bryce Dunn, fourteen great-grandchildren; Taylor Curtis, Will Pate, Drew Pate, Chloe Daniel, Maddie Daniel, Hannah and Mike Ross, Erica Pelfrey, Jasmine Daniel, Peyton Daniel, Dylan Webb, Austin Kirby, Daelyn Dyer, Landon Dyer, and Skylar Moore. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday December 14th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
