Nina Jo Moore

Nina Jo Moore, age 82, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday evening February 23, 2020 after a long illness. She was born in Atlanta. Georgia on December 12, 1937, daughter of the late John Emory and Jennie Bell Meadows McClurd. She was a lifetime resident of Calhoun, a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1955, and a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun. Nina and her beloved husband Perry operated Nina’s Flowers for over thirty years until their retirement. She was preceded in death by her grade-school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, Perry C. Moore, Sr. and her brother Jimmy McClurd. Survivors include her daughter Suzanne Moore of Calhoun, her daughter Paige Moore Smith and her husband David K. Smith of Calhoun, her son Perry Moore, Jr. and his husband Shawn Kilgore of Clermont, Florida, and her daughter Jana Moore of Calhoun. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kelly Smith Jourdan and her husband Robby Jordan of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Gail Smith of Dalton. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Marcelle Burch McClurd of Calhoun. Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o’clock p.m. Wednesday February 26, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Music will be arranged by David Smith and Shawn Kilgore. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour that day. Burial will be in the Moore Family plot in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be loved ones and friends.
