Myrtle Foster, age 87 of Sugar Valley, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her residence. Myrtle was born on December 11, 1923 in Chatsworth, Georgia. Daughter of the late George and Texie Early Dyer. Myrtle was formerly a Church of God Minister. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; Her husband, Raymond Nelson Foster, one son, Ernie Widner, five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include; Two sons; Charles King of El Paso, Texas and Glenn King of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Two daughters; Shelvie Rhodes and her husband William of Palm Coast, Florida, and Gloria Carpenter and her husband John of Delray Beach, Florida. Eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Other special people in Myrtle life were her niece, Edna Mitchell of Sugar Valley, her sister in law, Helen Correll of Tunnell Hill, nephew, Edward Dyer of Tunnell Hill and caregivers and friends, Sandy Patton of Cartersville and Candy West of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday December 4th at 3pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Chaplin Jennifer Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Hall Memorial / Fairview Baptist Cemetery. Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family request donations may be made to: At Peace Hospice @ 216 New Town Road, NE, Calhoun, Georgia 30701 in addition to flowers. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2 until 5pm at the funeral home. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Foster.
