Mozelle West Phoebus

Mozelle West Phoebus, age 81 of McDonough, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her residence. Mozelle was born on August 7, 1936 in Ranger, GA to the late Eugene Thacker and Ruby Crider Thacker. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lenton Dean West; second husband, John Phoebus; two brothers, Ted & Harlan; and a sister, Bonnie. Mozelle was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Ranger. Mozelle is survived by her four sons, Michael West of Atlanta, Gary West and his wife Frances of Locust Grove, Tim West and his wife Pam of Waleska, and Mark West and his wife Lorrie of Locust Grove; daughter, Sharon Mix and her husband Greg of Lilburn; two step-sisters, Sheila and Janet; sister, Beck Coggins of Jasper; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted on January 14th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Parker officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the funeral from 1 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
