M.L. Dale

M.L. Dale, age 85 of Adairsville, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Gordon Hospital. M.L. was born on February 4, 1926 in the Oakman Community. Son of the late Harley John and Mary Gertrude Woody Dale. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Nell Dale on December 30, 1988. M.L. was a veteran of WWII having joined the Navy at age 17. He was also a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, United States Air Force. He then retired after 30 years of service as Chief Master Sargent. He served an additional 16 and a half years in the Civil Service at Cape Canaveral, Florida. He was a member of the Adairsville Masonic Lodge F&AM #168, Yaarab Temple, Echota Vann Shine Club, and other Masonic Bodies. He was employed by Thomas Funeral Home from 1946 to 1950 and was a member of the Echota Baptist Church. Survivors include; His wife, Frances Dale of Adairsville. Two children, John G. Dale of Reno, Nevada, Jan Warsing and her husband Allen of Brunswick. Two step-children, Tommy Jones and his wife Kathy of Calhoun, and Sharon Jolley and her husband Grady of Calhoun. One brother, Harold June Dale and his wife Ruth of Adairsville. Three grandchildren. One great-grandchild. Nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00p.m. Sunday, November 13th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Don Walters and Randy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with military rites provided by the United States Air Force. Pallbearers include; Harold Dale, John Gazaway, Fred Prater, Michael Langston, Paul Hufstetler, T.J. Jones, Mike Clark, and Randy Reece. Honorary Pallbearers are friends from Echota Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 12th from 4:00 - 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. You may leave the Dale family online condolences at www.thomasfuneralhomecalhoun.com.
