Mitchell Keith Akins

Mitchell Keith Akins, age 43, of the Ranger community passed away at his residence Saturday morning April 26th, 2014. Mitchell was formerly employed by Mohawk Industries and was a member of Victory Fellowship Full Gospel Church. Survivors include his father Bob Akins of Dalton; mother, Joann Pass and her husband Estes of Calhoun; grandmother, Linnie Mae Tate of Ranger; daughter, Sierra of Rome; brother, Jeff Akins and his wife Becky of Sugar Valley; sisters, Melinda Fisher of Dalton and Joi Townsend and her husband Mart of Fairmount; Mitchell is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Funeral services will be conducted Monday April 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Timms and Rev. Jimmy Timms officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening April 27, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm. Pallbearers serving include: Dale Fisher, Todd Rutledge, Tommy Dutton, Mart Townsend, Taylor Gallman, and Randy Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will include the Victory Fellowship Sunday School Class. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home.
