Mrs. Miriam Flemister, age 69 of Calhoun died Sunday, June 18 in Calhoun Health Care following an extended illness.
She was born, February 29, 1937 in Polk County, daughter of the late James Landers and Willie Brady Landers. She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Flemister in 1995,Two Sisters; Evie Landers and Annie Pearl Lankford; and special nieces and nephews, Heather Jackson, Lisa Scott, Jim Lankford, and Jason Lankford. Miriam lived most of her life in Gordon County and was a member of the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church.
Miriam is survived by one son, Billy Flemister and his wife, Sandi; one daughter, Debbie Henderson; one brother, Dick Landers and his wife Nell of Hill City; two grandchildren, Sara Beth McDonald and a very special granddaughter Samantha Pack; special nieces, Karen Hulfish, Brenda Banks, and Becky Filler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 PM, Tuesday, June 20 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Ron Dawley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
The Flemister family will receive friends from 4:00 until 9:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
