Minnie Lou (Jackson) Grisham, 69, of Plainville, passed away June 10, 2012 after an extended illness. Minnie was born in Floyd County. She was preceded in death by her parents Minnie and Hulett Jackson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Ralph Jackson and a sister, Miss. Daisy Jeanette Jackson along with a special nephew, Andrew Jackson. Special friends David Carden and Terry Wilson will all be waiting in heaven to greet her. Minnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and loving friend. She committed her life to God at an early age and lived by the Holy Bible in all she did. Minnie used her God-given talents by teaching and working in her church. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Plainville. Minnie was a long-time member at Snow Springs Baptist Church in Adairsville where she taught Sunday School, Girls in Action groups, and a member of the Ladies Circle ministry. She gave all of her time and talents to share God’s love for others that will never be forgotten. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Minnie is survived by her devoted and faithful husband of 44 years, Billy “Gene” Grisham, two daughters and son-in-laws; Jennifer & Keith West, Gina & Tony Murdough all of Calhoun. She has three granddaughters; Cortney, Grace and Kaylee West that were the “apple of her eye.” She is also survived by a special aunt, Mrs. Ruth Massingill. Minnie is survived by three devoted brothers and sister-in-laws; Marvin & Judy Jackson of Rome, John & Clara Jackson of Adairsville, Wayne & Diane Jackson of Adairsville. She leaves two brother-in-laws with their spouses: Jimmy & Kathy Grisham of Plainville, and Johnny & Marie Grisham of Adairsville. Minnie leaves a best friend of 64 years Glenda Young Wilson and her husband Eddie. Several nieces and nephews survive: Lori Little, Lisa Ulmer, Dana Webster, Susan Peeler, Sherri Wilson, Jeanette Carroll, Joshua Jackson, Randolph Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Len Grisham, Jeff Grisham, Jeremy Grisham, and Becky Bean. Many great-nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Minnie loved her family and will be missed by them all. She was a great example for us to follow!
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00pm on Wednesday, June 13th @ Fellowship Baptist Church with the Reverend Harold Blackstock, Reverend David Ray and Reverend Marvin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will include; Jeremy Grisham, Jeff Grisham, Joshua Jackson, Johnny Carden, Roger Wilson, Howard Withrow, Douglas Baker, Chris Carden and Frank Nealy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12th after 5pm at the funeral home.
