Thursday, May 10, 2007 Mr. Milton M. Knight, Jr. age 77, of the Red Bud Community, died at 10:10 PM, in Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Knight was born in Polk County, March 11, 1930 son of the late Milton M. Knight, Sr. and Minnie Mae Taylor Knight . He was a lifetime resident of Gordon County, a member and Past Master of Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306, he was a member Bethesda Baptist Church and A sister, Elaine Miller, preceded him in death. Mr. Knight is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty W. Knight, one son, Mac Knight and his wife, Sandra; Two Step-Sisters; Frances White and Alice Williams both of Calhoun. Three Brothers in Laws; Waylon Miller of Plainville, Hogle Wright of Calhoun, and Fred Doyle Wright and his wife Mary of Dalton. Sister in Law; Beatrice Bowman and her husband A.D. of Calhoun. Four grandchildren, Lisa Knight, Kevin Knight and his wife, Michelle, Chris Knight and his wife Brooke, and Traci Sexton; Four great grandchildren, Hannah Knight, McLain Knight, Owen Knight and Kristen Bernard along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday May 12th at 11am from the Bethesda Baptist Church. With Rev. Wesley Hunt and Rev. Gary Bowman officiating. Music will be arranged by Rebecca Carter and Delilah Baxter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites. Pallbearers serving include; Danny Samples, Gary White, Stanley Simpson, J.D. Rogers,Jr., Terry Wright, Ben Miller, Chris, Kevin, and Jack Knight. Honorary Pallbearers are ask to meet at the church by 10:30am Saturday and include, Deacons of the Bethesda Baptist Church, The Men’s Sunday School Class, and members of the Coosawattee Masonic Lodge. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 9pm and on Saturday until 9:30 am at which time Mr. Knight will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10 until the funeral.
