Milford L. “Worm” West, age 97, of Calhoun, passed away Monday November 22nd in Gordon Health Care.
Milford was born August 17, 1924, in Sugar Valley, son of the late General Lee West and Allie Lee Joyce West. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Calhoun Office Supply and was a member of the VFW Post #5376, the American Legion Post #42, and the Sugar Valley Masonic Lodge #733.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Arnold Tippens, Lymon Tippens, Boyd West, Bob West, M.J. West, Max West, Bill West, Frankie Taylor, Daisey West, and Peggy West.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby McBee West; one daughter, Mitzi Adcock and her husband Barry; one granddaughter, Dana Sloan and her husband Brett; and one great-grandson, Hall Sloan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday November 26th at 3pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Corey Forsyth officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery will Military Honors afforded by the United States Army.
The family will receive friends Friday November 26th from 2 until 3pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
