Mildred Greeson Mincey, age 85, of Calhoun, passed away Monday August 26th in the Gordon Health Care Center. Mildred was born August 16, 1928 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Harlan Greeson and Emma Mullins Greeson. She was a homemaker and lifelong member of the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Mincey Walraven. Survivors include two sons, Todd Mincey of St. Augustine, FL., and Brian Walraven and his wife Charisse of Cartersville, two daughters, Shelia Mitchell and Jill Cline both of Adairsville, one brother, James Greeson of Calhoun, one sister, Evelyn Stephens and her husband Lamar of Calhoun, a special daughter, Joy Banks Jordon of St. Augustine, five grandchildren, Kyle Mitchell, Greg Mitchell Jr., Dustin Walraven, Alexis Walraven and Cameron Cline, one great-grandson, Greg Mitchell, III also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday August 28th at 11am from the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Morrow officiating. Music will be arranged by Connie Harris. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Kyle Mitchell, Greg Mitchell, Dustin Walraven, Cameron Cline, Brandon Banks, and Bryson Banks. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In addition to flowers the family request that donations may be made to the maintenance fund for Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mildred Greeson Mincey.
