Mildred Durham McRee

Mildred Durham McRee, age 82 former resident of Gordon County died Sunday, July 12 at the residence of her daughter, JoAnn, near Rome. Mildred was born in Gordon County, January 13, 1933, a daughter of the late W.H. Durham, Sr. and Elvie Manning Durham. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Edward McRee, two sisters, Margaret Durham and Frances Durham Justice, and one brother, Kenneth Durham. She was formerly a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Detroit and formerly attended Blackwood Springs Baptist Church of Gordon County. She is survived by her husband, A.C. McRee, Jr., two daughters, JoAnn McRee Alford and Sharon McRee; two brothers, Henry Durham and Bobby Durham; two grandsons, Tony McRee and Kevin Alford; along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 15 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Lamar Hand officiating. Anthony Gallman and Faye Land will have charge of music, and burial will be in the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Thomas Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for the services of Mildred Durham McRee.
