Mike Tinch, age 55, of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Gordon County.
Mike was born on August 28, 1961 in Floyd County to Bill Tinch and Jean West. He was a member of the Calhoun Church of Christ, alumnus of Calhoun High School class of 1979 where he was an outstanding athlete in football and baseball, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and son, he was also an avid hunter and golfer and attended Dalton Junior College.
He is survived by his loving high school sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Melanie Bentley Tinch; his parents, Bill and Jean Tinch, and three daughters, Amy Tinch Moore, Megan Tinch Mullins and her husband Thomas, Sarah Tinch Rice and her husband Eric all of Calhoun; brother, Dallas Tinch from Calhoun; a sister, Sherry Tinch Carter of Calhoun; he is also survived by seven grandchildren, Max Moore, Beau Moore, Emma, Mullins, Asa Mullins, Eli Mullins, Willow Rice and Leo Rice.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 6:00 PM from Calhoun Church of Christ with Minister Frank Mills, Minister John Mitchell and Minister Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Johnny Bagwell, Bryan Peeples, Rhett Peeples, Gage Peeples, Asa Peeples, Dallas Tinch Jr, Brent Carter, Nick Gravitt, and Bobbie Brewster will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Calhoun Church of Christ at 4:00 PM until the funeral hour of 6:00 PM.
