Michael Marvin Turner

Michael Marvin Turner, age 62 of Rome, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 in Gordon Hospital. Michael was born on February 3, 1949 in Habersham County. Son of the late Marvin Turner and Evelyn Inez Gray Turner. Michael graduated from Calhoun High School class of 1967 where he played football for four years. Then he attended Shorter College where he graduated in 1977 with his Business Degree. He was formerly employed by Southern Railroad. Survivors include; his brother, Eddie Turner and his wife Gail. One niece Lana Beth Turner all of Calhoun. Out of town survivors include; One brother, James Turner and sister-in-law, Audrey Turner. Niece and Nephew Audrey and Odie Turner. Great-Nephews; Matthew, Richard, and Dawson. Step brother, Mike Nelson, and nephew Jessie Nelson. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, December 28th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Noll Cemetery in Rome. Pallbearers serving include; Chris Millican, Danny Cochran, Jerry Massingill, Amos Hale, Brenton Thomas and Blake Rampy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, December 28th at the funeral home.
