Michael "Mike" Jones

Michael “Mike” Jones, age 74 of Ringgold, formally of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at his residence.

Mike was born on October 23, 1946, in Georgia to the late Claude Miller Jones, Sr. and Maude Swanson Jones. He was a member of Calhoun First Presbyterian Church. Mike started his career in banking at Calhoun First National Bank where he served as the Senior Lending Officer, He later went to work for Georgia Bank and Trust as the Senior Vice President. He served on the Calhoun/Gordon Development Authority, President of the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Fields Ferry Golf Commission, Chairman of the National Democratic Committee, member of the Gordon County Rotary Club, and member of the “official” Gordon County Jerry Jeff Walker Fan Club and Sunday School.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Jones of Ringgold; sons, Clayton Jones of Chickamauga, Clark Jones of Armuchee; daughter, Julia Jones of Calhoun, brothers, Claude Jones of Dalton, Jimmy jones of Ringgold; one grandchild, Jody Evans.

Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
