Merle Bennett

Merle Bennett, age 56 of Sugar Valley, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Gordon Hospital. Merle was born on January 4, 1961 in Youngstown, Ohio to Emerson Leroy Bennett and Betty Jean Stanley Bennett. He was employed for 32 years at Astro Dye, where he served as a supervisor. He attended Calvary Baptist Church of Sugar Valley. Merle loved riding motorcycles, and was a loving husband and father. Merle is survived by his parents, Leroy and Betty Bennett; wife, Pat Brown Bennett; son, Skyler Bennett; and sister, Shirley Spearman all of Sugar Valley. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 11th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Dwaine Shadix officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Paul Underwood, Robert Stone, Samuel Brown, John Davis and Rex Burchett serving as pallbearers.
