Melvin Samples

Melvin Samples, age 70, of Adairsville. Passed away Thursday evening November 17th at the Redmond Regional Medical Center. Melvin was born July 16, 1941 in Gordon County. Son of the late Carl Harvey Samples and Mary Carlisle Samples. He was a member of the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Gladys Samples. Son, Greg Samples and his wife Donna all of Adairsville. Daughter, Melva Bowen and her husband Donald of Sugar Valley. His brother, David Samples and his wife Pam of Adairsville. One sister, Marlene Cowart of Calhoun. Three grandchildren, Ethan Samples, Clay Bowen, and Carson Bowen also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday November 20th at 2pm from the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. With Rev. Ken Connor and Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Wayne Neal in charge of graveside rites. Pallbearers serving include, Greg Samples, Donald Bowen, Ethan Samples, Sean Samples, Seth Samples, and Sam Harwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons at Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 5 until 7pm at the funeral home. In addition to flowers the family request that donations can be made to the Blackwood Springs Cemetery Fund.
