Melissa Jordan Thomas

Melissa Jordan Thomas, age 66 of Ranger, GA, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Melissa was born on February 11, 1956 in Whitfield County,  GA, daughter of the late J.T. Jordan and Rachel Dalton Jordan. In addition to her parents, Melissa was also preceded in death by: her mother-in-law, Mary Thomas; two brothers, Wint Jordan and Jerry Jordan; and sister-in-law, Ruthie Ethridge. Melissa was a high school graduate of Murray County High School Class of 1974. She was a member of Casey Springs Community Church and loved her church and church family. Melissa loved Jesus and her life motto was “Faith Over Fear.” She was retired from the Gordon County School System. Melissa was married to her husband, David Thomas for over 45 years. She was a loving mother, nana, and sister. Melissa was a great encourager to all who knew her and was a wonderful example of faith and positivity. She loved her sisters and they loved her.

The family would like to give special thanks to Homespun Hospice for their care and compassion.

Melissa is survived by: her husband, David Thomas; three sons, Clint Thomas, Jake Thomas and his wife Nicole, and Matt Thomas; one daughter, Belle Bone and her husband Scott; six grandchildren, Tate Thomas, Logan Thomas, Ivy Bone, Izzie Bone, Tessa Thomas, and Blair Thomas; two brothers, James Jordan and his wife Sherrie and Troy Jordan and his wife Sharon; three sisters, Joyce Brooker and her husband Jackie, Kathryn McBrayer and her husband Tony, and Terresa Tomlinson and her husband Frankie; one sister-in-law, Glenese Fain; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home Joyce Brooker officiating. Interment will follow in Casey Springs Community Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Matt Thomas, Logan Thomas, Tate Thomas, Scott Bone, Kevan Carpenter, BJ Swanson, Barry Troglin, and Larry Walraven.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 11 AM until the funeral hour at 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Peeples Cancer Institute at 1215 Memorial Drive, Dalton, GA 30720.
