Maxine Roberts Baker

Maxine Roberts Baker, age 74 of the Pine Chapel Community passed away Saturday, June 4 in Erlanger Medical Center of Chattanooga. Maxine was born, February 10, 1937 in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Claude Roberts and Mildred Greeson Roberts. She was a retired educator in the City of Calhoun School System and was a member of the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurmond and Donald Roberts. Maxine is survived by her husband of 32 years, Boyd Baker of the Pine Chapel Community; two sons, McClain Causby of Florida, Todd Causby and his wife, Kimberli of Cartersville; one daughter, Shawn Causby of Clarksville, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and a special cousin, Helen Moss Stewart of the Sonoraville Community; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 7 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Don Hattaway officiating. Burial will be in Pine Chapel Cemetery with the Reverend Ken Phillips officiating. Pallbearers are Rae Quinn, Jerry Quinn, James Weaver, Oscar Gravitt, Creswell Black, Marvin McBee, and David McLeod. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:45 AM, Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Stroke Association in addition the flowers.
