Maudain Whitener Brown, age 97, of Resaca. Died Friday morning January 21st in Floyd Medical Center.
Maudain was born in Fannin County October 16, 1913. Daughter of the late Sim and Laura Conley Whitener. She was a member of Resaca Baptist Church. She was employed at CandleWick Mills for more than 20 years and at Calhoun Spinning prior to her retirement.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Brown. Grandson, Dewayne Brown. Brothers; Clint, Lloyd, and Clyde Whitener, Grady, Howard and James Stanley. And, a sister, Daisy Haley.
Survivors include; Two sons; Jimmy Brown and Johnny Brown both of Resaca. One sister, Agnes Fossett of Dalton. Four grandchildren; Kevin Brown of Calhoun, Kelley Braga of Dawsonville, Mitchell Brown of Rome, and Mandy Mullinax of White. Five great grandchildren; Telina. AnnaBelle, Zeke, Landon and Crystal Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday January 23rd at 2pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Harold Blackstock officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Kevin Brown, Mitchell Brown, Boyd Highfield, Michael Whittemore, Marc Braga, Tim Stanley, and Mark Fossett.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4 until 8pm.
