Mrs. Mary Frances Wood, age 82, of the Reeves Station Community. Died Thursday morning December 13th in Gordon Hospital.
Mary Frances was born in Gordon County on October 23, 1925, daughter of the late Richard Chesley and Johanna Bramblett Muse. She was a member of Reeves Baptist Church. Mary Frances was a active member of the Gordon County Seniors Center and a former member of the Rocking Chair Band and a Pink Lady at Gordon Hospital. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, J.P. Muse, Grady Muse, Sam Muse, and Melvin Muse. Two sisters, Gay Bunch and Clemmie Simmons.
She is survived by her husband Carl Bates Wood. One son, Sam King and his wife Lynda all of the Reeves Station Community. Brother, Earl Muse and his wife Troy Lee of Oostanula. Sister in laws, Sarah Muse of Ringgold and Florence Muse of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Two grandchildren, Stephania Hyde and her husband John, and Crystal Brown and her husband Roy. Great-Grandchildren, Jody and Dylan Hyde. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday December 14th at 2PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Stephen Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Rick Langston in charge of graveside rites. Kenny Herron will have charge of the music. Pallbearers severing include, Samuel Beasley, Richard Weaver, Ralph Faulkenberry,Dustin Webb, Larry and David Muse.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 9 pm.
