Mary Nell Floyd West

Mary Nell West, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 11, 2023.

She was born on July 21, 1927, in Gordon County, GA, to the late Elliott Floyd and Bertha Davis Floyd.

Mary was a dedicated homemaker throughout her life. Her unwavering commitment to her family and home made her an inspiration to all who knew her. She poured love into every meal she cooked and every room she decorated. Mary's warm smile and gentle nature created a loving atmosphere in her household that will be remembered by all.

Mary married Billy M. West and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill in 1993, son Marvin West, daughter Teresa Lynn Fuller, and grandson DJ Fuller.

Mary leaves behind a legacy through her children Marvin West and Teresa Lynn Fuller. Marvin and Teresa were lucky to have such a caring and nurturing mother who always put their needs above her own. Mary's love knew no bounds as she selflessly cared for them throughout their lives.

Mary is survived by her daughter Cathy Hill, sons Bud West, Billy West, Mike West, sister Barbara Russell, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Each member of the family held a special place in Mary Nell's heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her grandchildren brought immense joy to her life, and she took pride in watching them grow into remarkable individuals.

A visitation will be held on September 13, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home located at 535 Red Bud Road N.E., Calhoun, GA 30701. This will be an opportunity for family members, friends, and loved ones to gather together to honor Mary's life and offer their condolences.

A graveside service will take place on September 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Fain Cemetery located at 104 Anabel Ln, Calhoun, GA 30701 with Reverend Jimmy Garland in charge of graveside rites. We will come together as a community to celebrate the memories made with Mary and bid her a final farewell.

Pallbearers serving are Keith West, Tyler Hill, Stewart West, Matthew Petty, Todd Hill, and Mike West. 

Mary Nell West will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence in our lives has left an indelible mark, and her memory will forever be cherished. As we mourn Mary's passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all of us.
