Mary A. Weaver

Mary Wood Weaver, age 77 of the Pleasant Hill Community, passed away on Sunday June 10, 2012 in Gordon Hospital. Mary was born on August 17, 1934 in Gordon County. Daughter of the late Carl Bates Wood, Sr. and Lula Fite Wood. She was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; Wyatt, Hoyt and Carl B. Wood, Jr. Survivors include; her husband of 60 years, C.L. Weaver. Two sons; Richard and Wyatt Weaver all of the Pleasant Hill Community. One daughter, Cindy Leatherwood and her husband Jim of Calhoun. One brother-in-law, Sala Weaver and his wife Lela Mae. Three sister-in-laws; Bonnie Weaver of Birmingham, AL, Elvenia Watkins of Calhoun and Avanell Weaver of Armurchee. Three grandchildren; Mark Leatherwood and his wife Lora, Will Leatherwood and Cary Brock and her husband Chuck. Two great-grandchildren; Carter and Caylee Brock. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 12th from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Barry Brock officiating. Pat Brock, The Pleasant Hill Trio and her grandchildren will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery. Mary will lie in state at the church from 1:00pm until the funeral hour. Pallbearers serving include; Mark and Will Leatherwood, Chuck Brock, Greg Weaver, David Wood and Sam King. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15pm on Tuesday. Honorary Pallbearers include; Nephews, Pleasant Hill Sunday School Class and Ladies from the Red Carpet Cattle Women. In addition to flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Gidions Society. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8pm on Monday, June 11th at the funeral home.
