Mrs. Mary Will Moss Stephens age 95 of Calhoun, died Wednesday evening March 3rd. at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Stephens was born in Gordon County on Oct. 24, 1914 a daughter of the late Columbus “Lum” and Charlcie Madge Slagle Moss. She was a lifelong resident of Calhoun, was a homemaker and a member of the Calhoun First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by he husband J. Frank Stephens, a sister; Madge deGraan, a brother; Slagle Moss and a grandson; Kent Franklin Robertson. Survivors include on son and his wife; Haley and Pam Stephens of Calhoun, 2daughters and their husbands; Lynne and Champ Kelly of Calhoun and Tina and Pete Robertson of Owens Crossroads, Alabama. 3 grandchildren; Will and Kurt Kelly and Stephanie Sullivan, 6 great-grandchildren; Erin Kelly, Ashley Kelly, Beau Kelly, Ansley Kelly, Liam Kelly and Callie Sullivan along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 5th. from the Calhoun First United Methodist Church with Dr. Brian Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Will and Kurt Kelly, Mike Gregory, Greg Weaver, Merrell Moss, Sam Edwards and Steve Thomason and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Friday. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Louvorn, Billy Lewis, Jim Lay, Son Owens, Tom Bond, Kyle Smith and L.P. Owens and they are asked to meet at the Church at 10:45 A.M. Friday. Honorary escort will be members of her Bridge Group and include Louise Bond, Pat Lewis, Glo Hobgood, Marjorie Louvorn , Shirley Moore, Martha Claire Adams, Barbara Dobbs and Betty Scoggins and they are also asked to meet at the Church at 10:45 A.M. Friday. The Family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. today.
