Mary Francis Spector

Mary F. Spector (Neal), age 94 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mary was born on October 3, 1926 in Gore, GA, daughter of the late William Alvin “W.A.” Neal & Georgia New Neal. The seventh of ten children, Mary “Bit”, was born into a large, close knit family.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Frank “Frankie” Spector; step-grandson, Reagan Matthews; five brothers & three sisters.
Mary is survived by: her children, Barry Spector (Kim Spector), Janet Spector Durham (Michael Durham) & Robert “Robbie” Spector (Myssie Spector); seven grandchildren - Heath Spector, Haggan Spector, Jessica Durham Wood (Blake Wood), Kristopher Durham, Blair Spector (fiancé Robert Williams), Baylon Spector & Brannon Spector; two great-grandchildren – Bennett Wood & Reese Wood; two step-grandchildren – Grayson Hall (Austin Hall) & Gabby Smith; one step-great grandchild – Birdie Hall; her sister Shelby Davis (James Davis) & many nieces and nephews.

Mary is also survived by the many children she kept and loved throughout her long life.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home from 12-2pm with funeral services to immediately follow in the Chapel at Thomas Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Bert Vaughn. Music will be performed by Rebecca Owen. Pallbearers for her service will be: Heath Spector, Haggan Spector, Kristopher Durham, Blake Wood, Baylon Spector & Brannon Spector. Honorary pallbearers are all those who loved or stayed with “Granny Mary”.

Mary will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Frank, at Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun, GA.
