Mary Kathryn Roberts

Mary Kathryn Dobson Roberts, age 83 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her residence. Kathryn was born on November 22, 1929 in Gordon County to Henry Roe Dobson and Thelma Lucille Stancill Dobson. She attended Heritage Baptist Church and she worked at Mannington Mills prior to her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. “K.O.” Roberts and two brothers, Billy Dobson and Henry Jo Dobson. Survivors include: her sister, Evelyn Dobson Owens and her husband James of Calhoun; nieces and nephews, Vickie Dillard, Stevie Dillard and his wife Rachel and their son Luke, Shannon Dillard and her son Bly James, Edward Owens and his wife Kaye; special friends, Tammy Thomas Wilson, Tamara Sabo, and Kathryn Thomas; and other nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to give a special thanks to the NorthStar Hospice nurses and chaplain. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, August 30th at 11:00am from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Brent Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Steve E. Dillard, Hank, Kenneth, Lewis, Gary and Randy Dobson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
