Mary Phillips

Monday, June 02, 2008 Mrs. Mary “Maw Maw” Phillips, age 76 of 435 Chatsworth Hwy, 225 N.E., Calhoun, died Sunday June 1st. in Sunbridge Health Care of Cartersville. Mrs. Phillips was born in Denton , Texas on May 21, 1932 daughter of the late Charles T. and Julia Gaddis Fowler. She was a member of the Echota Baptist Church, was a homemaker and Owned and Operated Mary’s Little Lamb Day Care for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Max Phillips in 1998. Survivors include two sons; Wayne Phillips and his wife Marie, Jerry Phillips and his wife JoAnn all of Calhoun, one daughter; Peggy Brown and her husband Kenneth of Calhoun, three brothers; Charles Fowler of Calhoun, Ed Jones and his wife Barbara of Chatsworth, Ga. and Frank Jones and his wife Carolyn of Tennessee, three sisters; Melissa Hunter and her husband Randy of Calhoun and Doris Lanier and Catherine Hayes. Six grandchildren; Bryan Phillips of Calhoun, Calista and Howell Avery of Calhoun, Joseph and Lacretia Phillips of Chatsworth, Jamie and Jennifer Phillips both of Calhoun and Triston Brown of Calhoun, two great-grandchildren; Andrew Phillips of Chatsworth and Zoey Avery of Calhoun. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 4th. from the Echota Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Walters officiating. Rev. Jeff Dutton will have charge of the Graveside services which will be at the Gordon Memorical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home after 6:00 P.M.on Tuesday evening. Pallbearers serving include Joseph and Jamie Phillips, Eric Tate, Austin Fowler, Zack Gwin and Jimmy Blalock.
