Mary Lou Knight

Sunday, March 04, 2007 Mrs. Mary Lou Knight age 84 of Cartersville , died Sunday March 4th. in the Cartersville Medical Center. Mrs. Knight was born in Gordon County on July 14, 1922 daughter of the late Norman and Nellie Greeson Samples. She was a former resident of Calhoun and Rome, was a homemaker and a Member of the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband Alto Knight in 2004, three brothers;Carl Horace and Harlan Samples and a sister; Mamie Samples Hensley. Survivors include two sons; Jerry Knight and his wife Pat of Cartersville, Ga. and Terry Knight of Rome, four grandchildren; Ron Knight and his wife Kandi of Cartersville, Chad Knight and his wife Nicole of Carrollton, Ga., Tracey Long and her husband Barry of Rome and Donna Goss and her husband Jamey of Rome. nine great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 6th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. J.Clinton Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Blackwood Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Ron,Chad and Zack Knight, Austin and Barry Long and Jamey Goss and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday. The Family Trio will have charge of the Music. The Knight family will receive friends at the funeal home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday.
