Wednesday, December 06, 2006 Mrs. Mary Jestine Holden age 78 of 328 River Bend Rd., Plainville, Ga. died Tuesday December 5th. in Floyd Medical Center following a brief illness. Mary was born in Jamestown, Kentucky on March 20, 1928 daughter of the late Clarence Alvin and Victoria Elizabeth Russell Kernes. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Kingston, Ga. and prior to retirement was employed by Burlington Industries in Shannon, Ga. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Virgil Holden in 1993, one brother; Albert Kernes, two sisters; Christine Shepherd and Gladys Garrison. Survivors include four sons; William Everett Holden of Floyd County, David Lee Holden of Lindale, Ga., James Alvin Holden of Kingston, Ga. and Russell Wayne Holden of Taylorsville, Ga., Two Daughters; Mary Frances Holden Goswick of Plainville and Elizabeth Louise Holden O’Berry of Kingston, One sister; Bonnie Burnette of Floyd County, Ga. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday December 7th. from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Branton officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are asked to meet at the Church at 11:45 A.M Thursday.. On Thursday the body will be carried to the Church to lie instate from 12:00 Noon until the Funeral Hour. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. today (Wednesday) December 6th.
