Mrs. Mary Ann Hammond age 81 of Calhoun died Sunday evening in Gordon Hospital following several month of declining health. Mrs. Hammond was born in Gordon County on Feb. 24, 1929 daughter of the late Charles and Esther Greeson Ray and was a life long resident. She was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and was retired from Gordon Hospital where she was an LPN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph D. Hammond.
Survivors include three daughters; Linda Jordan and her husband Rick of Dunwoody, Ga. Hilda Kennedy and her husband Rick of Dacula, Ga. and Joyce Hollingsworth and her husband Donnie of Calhoun, one sister-in- law Jo-An Holcomb of Calhoun, grandchildren; Jonathan Jordan, April Thomas and her husband Robin, Blake Kennedy, Zane Hollingsworth, Drena Hollingsworth Brouillard and her husband Adam, two great-grandchildren; Trae Murrell and Oliver Brouillard. Funeral services will be conducted at 11;00 a.m. Wednesday May 12th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.
Sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Tuesday evening.
