Mary Greene

Thursday, January 04, 2007 Mrs. Mary Baker Greene, age 91 of 6624 Fairmount Highway , Calhoun, died Wednesday January 3rd. at the residence of her son Tony following an extended illness. Mrs. Greene was born in Gordon County, Ga. on Oct. 28, 1915 daughter of the late David Festus and Belle Bradley Baker and had spent her entire life here. She was a member of the Sonoraville Baptist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Dwight Thomas Greene in 1982, a brother Rob Baker and a beloved sister-in-law; Jessie Greene. Survivors include two sons and their wives; Tony and Betty Greene of Calhoun and Dale and Shirley Greene of Springhill, Florida, one brother; Bradley Baker of Augusta, and two sisters; Ruth Champion and Alta Rogers both of Calhoun. Nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 6th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. John Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 P.M. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 9:00 on Friday.
